Author Minna Rytisalo

Hello!

I am Minna Rytisalo, a writer and former Finnish language teacher. I worked for a long time in high school, but nowadays I am a freelance writer, trainer and writer's tutor.

I come from Sodankylä, a small village in Lapland, and live with my family in Kuusamo, surrounded by enchanting nature. I like scratching dogs, picking berries, walking in the woods and seeing how bread bakes. My home is full of books, I am a reader and a lover of words. I read for work and for pleasure - easily a hundred books a year. As a reader, I delight in the intrigue and thoughtful surprises of narrative and the way words create worlds.

I became a writer through a lot of deliberation - I didn't start this career until I turned 40, but maybe that was just a good thing. The final decision to switch from teaching to becoming a writer was also influenced by work exhaustion, and I would never have guessed that something good could come of it. However, it happened.

Currently I provide coaching services for writers and I am also a public speaker in Finnish. Being a professional writer is still my greatest ambition and I wish you will stay interested following my next publications!
